Wordpress Plugin on Existing Blog

If I install the disqus comment plugin in wordpress do I lose all my existing comments or do they port over...

Importing will be released soon.

At present, nothing is lost. You can use Disqus from this moment
forward.

I see...i have quite a few existing comments that I don't want to lose nor have them disappear from view...should I wait until importing works?

You can choose to have it not disappear from view. All old posts will
be left alone, while new blog entries will use Disqus for comments.

When importing is available, you will be able to sync up your data
completely.

Same here...I just pulled the plug on disqus until I can integrate the two smoothly.

Sorry. I should clarify. I have a wordpress blog that displays the number of comments below the title. But it doesn't seem like disqus and wordpress connect in terms of this.
