Would a customized wiki do it if the comments were visible? Perhaps not using Disqus - is there any other way of having a document that mutiple people can login and make comments on - like Google Docs for example, but for members of a wordpress of joomla site?

In other words, considering Disqus has the freedom to change the generated HTML this is not recommended :-).

Yeah I had it working on RSSmeme (http://blog.disqus.net/2008... and it actually worked for a while but the HTML emitted by reply.js was modified and it left RSSmeme looking kind of ugly. Instead of fixing the CSS I just went back to the "official" method of integration.

I've noticed an attempt on RSSMeme, but it actually doesn't work... well, it might work but the UI is definitely broken.

Unfortunately, what I'm seeing there and your response are not very encouraging though :-(.

It should be possible with some javascript and the reply.js on the API documentation page. I think someone got it working before but never launched it.
