Ok, I managed to solve it, simply reset to the default templates and Disqus works great :)

I tried again after 5 months and using disqus-movabletype-2.0 and Movable Type versión 4.24-en without any result. Im trying to do some research. Where are the tags of Disqus that I can use on my movable type templates listed? It seems that the documentation is pretty hard to find.

Answered my own question. Found the reference to:
var disqus_developer = 1;

In the faq. It would be useful to have this in the installation instructions (as required for testing on a non-public site).

I am testing disqus for my company, so I can't show you the test site (its inside the firewall), but I have can't seem to get it to display the form to add a comment.

Ths site uses Movable Type 3.36, and we are looking at using Disqus to enable comments on the site (and have them usable) without upgrading to 4+.

I have to say, the documentation seems a bit sparse for an app that so many large organizations are using.

I've just tried to add the "generic" code snippet to the comments widget, and it seems to work.
What are the differences / advantage of using the MovableType plugin vs the generic code?

I forgot to ask, do I have to do anything else once I have enabled the plugin? I am pretty new to MT, so I don't know much yet about how to customise it, but I have seen the tags used in the widgets and templates. Do I have to manually write some code this way, create a widget or something like that, or would enabling the plugin suffice?

Same here, new MT install, plugin enabled etc, but I can't see Disqus on my posts. :(

Hi,

I followed the wiki instructions and configurated the disqus plugin. Then I rebuilt all the pages (I set static publishing for all templates) and I cant visualize the disqus thread on my individual entry pages.

I've changed the default templates a lot. Im not able to find the tags that disqus uses. If I could obtain that list of tags I'll be able to change the templates manually.

Any idea? Thks in advance

Hi, I'm having trouble with my disqus installation. When I choose "Replace all entries with no comments (including future posts)" it removes my existing movable type comments too. I'm publishing static and am using the latest version of disqus. Please help!

I'm also seeing this problem. Brand new MT setup. All templates are already defaulted to static publishing.

Any suggestions? I noticed the out-of-the-box templates use the new MT tagging syntax. Is Disqus sensitive to this?

Following installation on MT 4.2 system, I saw same issue and resolution as kf6nvr. Changed settings to static publishing for individual entry templates, rebuilt pages. Disqus was then enabled.

Admin i think I need a little more hand-holding here. Add what tags by hand and where. Could you paste a simple generic example of what you mean. I tried

<mt:Entries lastn="5" sort_by="title" sort_order="ascend">
<$MTEntryCommentCount$>
</mt:Entries>

And get nothing that looks like output from or to Disqus

I am facing a similar problem I am using dynamic publishing for entry pages and my blog runs on MT 4.1.

I uploaded the plugin and activated it but the pages look the same.

I had a similar problem to this. Luckily, I have a test blog as well as a secondary blog on my site via the same installation. I traced the issue down to whether or not my individual archive templates were dynamic or static. When static, everything works great. When dynamic, only those with disqus comments appear -- all others are reverted to the normal movable type comment system.

Thoughts on this? I really need to use dynamic mode. (I think, anyway... one big problem was comment/spam storms -- that's no longer my problem with disqus.)

I should point out that I'm on movable type 3.34.

Sorry for the delay. What is the URL of the blog you are trying to install Disqus on? Have you resolved this already? I see the comments enabled on a test blog in your profile.
