So here are the instructions I followed to install Disqus:

http://disqus.com/integrate/altgate/typepad/

I followed these and got the new comments. But on the AVC blog comments (http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2008/08/disqus-gives-us...) I was told to "unpack the plugin and install something." What plugin?

You are fine and done.

The plugin only applies to WordPress.

Um, does that mean that my old comments (done in Typepad's comment feature) will not migrate over? I have a lot of comments on the blog http://www.altgate.com/ that don't show up...
