The Disqus Blog: Import Comments into Wordpress

  • mim · 1 year ago
Oops, I think I wasn't too clear here. I know how to export the comments, but then I'm not sure what to do with them. Like in Wordpress there's an import option, but there's no place to import XML and the choice for importing RSS is labeled for posts, not comments. So I guess if anyone knows how to import the comments back to wordpress, that's what I'd like to know.

Is there a way to import the XML or RSS (originally exported from disqus) into Blogger or Wordpress?
If not what happens to your comments if disqus goes away?

Also wondering if there are plans to add the ability to import existing blogger comments into Disqus.

    a) Yes, you can export from Disqus.

    b) Yes, we're working on this.

On the first question (and answer) a), I'm not sure there is a blogging platform that can actually import that XML or RSS data back into the blog. For instance if Disqus went away (I'm sure that won't happen, but just in case ;) is there a blogging platform such as Blogger or Wordpress that can import those XML or RSS data (the comments) back into their blogs?

    Thanks,

Wait, so the Export from Disqus right now cannot be important back into Wordpress??

I would like to know the same thing - its the only things stopping me from moving to disqus!

I would like to know, how to edit a comment on disqus?
  • Daniel Ha · 1 year ago
You can only edit your own at the moment.
