The Disqus Blog: How to Edit Comments?

  • Daniel Ha · 1 year ago
You cannot edit someone's comment. If it is inappropriate, you should
    remove it.

It's not that it is in appropriate just sometimes there may be a bad link or really bad grammar and little things like those that I would like to cleanup on my website as the comments people post using Disqus is shown on my website.

I was able to edit comments using wordpress's commenting system. So if it is good to edit comments on wordpress system why does this upgrade to your Disqus system not allowed.

Please let me know what to do, I am considering another service or to retur to using wordpress if I am unable to edit comments. I really need this feature.

    Thank You.

I agree that superficial edits are necessary and we are working this
    into our next release.

I have to state an objection. I would never think of editing a reader's comment, and I don't want to comment on a blog where my comment can be edited by someone else.

I think if you are a registered user you should be able to edit your own comments.

I'm kinda on both sides (@Ted at BSYTYCD and tfn) of the fence here... But if you allow editing of other people's comments, please enable a feature which clearly shows that the comment has been moderated, give a mouseover or link to show the original comment...

On a post I made on my own blog just today, there are some spelling errors. I feel it would be appropriate to edit those. How would I go about doing that?
  • Daniel Ha · 1 year ago
It'll be addressed in 2.01. Sorry about this.

I tried again to import the comments, but no love. :o( I've been keeping a close eye out for the update. I hope I'll be able to import my comments with the update. I've been checking every 30 minutes or so due to great anticipation. Anyway keep up the hard work and I'll put out the word once I'm able to get things working on mine so other people will take notice. I know that its a lot of work getting things to work across so many blogging platforms.

I think it will be a step in the right direction and I think you will also see more wordpress bloggers using your Disqus as a matter of just that one addition to features.

Thanks, as I am on the edge of my seat awaiting your next release.

    Keep up the progressive efforts!
