I have a slightly related question: how do I remove my Twitter account??? I can't find any way to remove it on the edit-profile page.

Visit: http://disqus.com/account/services and click "click to disable".

Thanks for the quick answer! I was confused because it said "click to ENable Twitter access" -- I just went and en- and the disabled it and now it's gone.

Sounds like twitter is already disabled. If you're you trying to
remove twitter from your blog? If so you can find that option here:
http://disqus.com/admin/settings/
