The Disqus Blog: How do I hide Disqus comments from "pages" using the wordpress plug in?

    You can close commenting here:

Giannii, I tried this on my installation (closing the thread for the page) at http://giffconstable.com/about and the Disqus input box won't disappear -- it won't stay closed.

After closing in the Moderate tool, I then, in a separate browser, refresh the page to see the results. I still see the input box. I go back to the DISQUS admin panel and the page is no longer marked closed.

btw, I don't see a place to search this forum, either I'm being very unobservant or that would be a useful add

I am attempting to use Wordpress as a content management system. I want the pages to not say "Comments for this post are closed." When I disable DISQUS, that phrase doesn't show up. When I enable it, the phrase pops up again. Is there a way to do this with DISQUS?
  • Giannii · 5 months ago
Just to confirm, you want to remove the phrase closed commenting after
a thread has been closed on Disqus?

    I reenabled Disqus.

I want to remove all mention of DISQUS on pages where there are no comments. I am using Wordpress as a CMS.

    Thanks!

I have disabled pings ans track backs and closed the threads for pages I don't want to have a comment box but they still do! What gives? Is a there a similar alternative product that actually works?

How can I completely(!) hide the Disqus-Code on any "Page" in WP?

I would also like to know that!

I really can't think of anyone who wants comments on their "Pages" in WordPress. The whole idea is that these Pages are generally informational and static. For some people this is a deal breaker. I don't want to disable Disqus (I'm just starting to use it), but I also don't want comments on my About Page.

It would be nice if Disqus staff would both answer this and fix it. It is counterproductive to replace part of a system in a CMS with an external tool, only to have that tool stubbornly re-introduce features the CMS allows us to remove.

Yes, an option needs to be added to disable comments (entirely, without 'closed' text) on all Wordpress PAGES. This would be a great time saving feature as not many want comments on their PAGES, only POSTS.

'Closing' comments is not the same as 'removing' the feature entirely from the PAGE.
