I have the problem as well. It shows the avatar when I'm logged on but when I actually post something, the profile goes missing. As far as I can tell, the Facebook ID displayed is correct but it doesn't pull in any details.

Public search listing is checked, etc.

This problem looks like it's been going on for awhile (Over 3 months!) and yet nothing has been done to fix the problem. Is there any way we can get a separate page on the wiki dedicated to solving this problem? The layout of the wiki isn't exactly conducive for quickly answering/solving problems that your users seem to have.

I am also having the same problem with the facebook connect. Whenever someone tries to comment, it displays the facebook user name and avatar prior to posting, but shows " facebook-(id number)" as the name after posting. You can see an example here: http://jtakahashi.tumblr.co...

I am under the impression that the Disqus staff is as clueless as we are regarding the cause of the problem. Can we at least find out if this is a facebook account-related or disqus-side related issue?

Also, maybe it would be more useful if http://wiki.disqus.net/Face... was a valid website.

I just now installed Disqus on my website and I tried to test the comment with Facebook and got the same problem (http://thetarantism.com/art.... I have made the public listing and everything, and it has not changed (will it take a few hours to propagate? I just changed it half an hour ago).

Hi.

I am so new to all of this, but I follow a blog that is using your comment thingy (sorry for the lack of knowledge..lol) and for some reason I am having the same problem as everyone else here. When I am "logged in" under facebook, my avatar and name show up above the comment box, but then when I submit my comment, only my picture and facebook73800389 are displayed. Iw ould like for it to show my name, but I don't know to fix it. I tried to go into my settings and changed everything you said, but that didn't work.

I too am having the same issue where my name and avatar fail to show up. I get a grey smiley face and the username of facebook-1298104538. I have performed the steps in the facebook fix but it has made no difference. I have also cleared my cache in the hopes that helps...it didnt.

I've just published a comment here http://www.juarezpolanco.co... and as you can see it won't display my avatar, but instead a noavatar image. I suppose I'm doing something wrong because before I hit the "Publish comment" button it did display my FB avatar.

I followed instructions at http://wiki.disqus.net/Face... many weeks ago, I even reinstalled and got a new API key and no luck.

Any new idea?

I had this problem, what I did was clean my browser's cache and everything was fine. My only observation right now is that when logged in with FBConnect Disqus won't show my FB avatar. Is it suppose to be like this?

the exact message im getting every time i try to login to my site with facebook connect is:

"The URI you submitted has disallowed characters."

is that also the message the others are getting?
