i am finding difficult in configuring "DRIGG RSS reader" feature in Drigg module.
I am trying to automate using the RSS feed directly as scoop posting
I hope DRIGG RSS reader supports this feature.

I just published a Disqus Drupal module at http://drupal.org/project/d... . Test it out on my blog at http://www.robloach.net/nod... . Enjoy!

It uses the JavaScript integration API to embed the comments and the number of comments. Once you guys release a larger public API (http://disqus.com/developers/), we can have a look at getting better integration going (single sign-on, import/export to help migration from comment module, etc).

The really cool feature is to use Disqus as a module for Drigg installations of Drupal, allowing that users of a digg-like site could use their own comment system to start and follow debates on many places.

Thanks for the pointers for the mods needed to get Disqus working with Drupal.

As for the wider issue, I can see both sides (because I used to strongly agree with you) but, curiously enough, I recently blogged about this very issue recently.

It is easy to integrate Disqus to Drupal by editing the template files;

First we have to disable "comment.tpl.php" to disable drupal to view comments of it's own. It's easy by commenting out all the content in "comment.tpl.php"

Then we have to disable the comment input box, in fact create our own input box. For this, we have to create a "box.tpl.php" file, and add the script and div codes given at disqus.

It works allright, but i don't think we can fully integrate it to drupal.
What will happen to the existing comments in drupal?
Will we still be able to use the special "filters" given at the drupal site (like bbcode, textile, even LaTeX)?
What about localization? (there are multilanguage drupal sites, maybe this can be integrated if tried by creating a module)

Also I don't like depending an important part of the content to another web site. It's not healthy. So i think you are in the wrong way :) The best direction you should get was to create a module "which can allow users to post with an openid/disqus to blogs, and also which can receive comment content as an rss feed" so this way you could follow users' comments by getting their openid's, comments then could create feeds like;

"the user that have this openid, posted this comment, to this page at this site, at this date."

That's the real and easier way to create a community between commenters.

It's not healthy to directly takeover a site's commenting system.

I haven't played with Drupal much either but I was puzzled to discover that I could easily integrate Disqus into Habari but not into Drupal
