The Disqus Blog: Disqus does not show up on my blog?

  • Daniel Ha · 1 year ago
Is this an self hosted Blogger?
  • JonBoy · 1 year ago
I am using google blogger and I just bought the domain... I followed the steps and uploaded my xml and had it changed by Disqus and re uploaded it...and its in the html, but nothing shows up on the page.

What gives? Thanks for your help!

I am having the same problem. I followed the Disqus instructions to the letter, and when it didn't work with my current blog, I tried it with a brand new Blogger blog, using a standard template, so there would be no chance that something I had added to the template was messing things up. The integration process simply IS NOT WORKING for me. It is just literally not working at all.

I'm not the kind of person who rushes to post things on help boards at the first sign of trouble; I've been working on this problem for 3 or 4 days now, and literally the only explanation is that Disqus's integration process is, for me, broken on Disqus's end.

Likewise, Disqus did not install after following all the instructions. To be truthful, the last several steps were not clear to me. Perhaps you could take a stab at doing a better set of instructions. Especially the last steps in the procedure.

There may be some issues with Blogger at the moment. We haven't changed anything on our end, so we'll investigate to see what has changed over there.

    Thanks.

HI, I have exactly the same problem as the others above when I try to include Disqus comments on my blog. My blog is on Google blogger (ivanandersson.com) and I have bought a domain. I have followed all the instructions on Disqus on how to go about, but it does not work.

Hope you can create a solution.

Ps. I also included Disqus comments on my Tumblr blog according to your instructions - and that worked fine, no problem there.

Having issues as well with Blogger and Disqus. The default Blogger commenting system is still there and it's driving me nuts. Let us know when it's working! I do love the ability to watch all of my commenting around the net, though!

    Thank you!

    Edit:

I am using a standard (not hosted) domain. http://bmbufalo.blogspot.com

Guys is there a way to add "nofollow" tag, incase a visitor leaves his/her blog's url ?
  • annahita · 11 months ago
Same problem here, except that the Disqus commenting system IS actually visible, in ONE post. All the posts I've written since have Bloggers own commenting system. What's up with that?

EDIT: No, actually, Disqus appears on SOME posts, but not all. The question remains though, hee hee.

Followed the instructions to the letter and nothing appears. In my comment section the options available are as google account, live Journal, typepad, wordpress etc.
  • womanistmusings · 11 months ago
I think I discovered something. I am almost pretty sure what the problem is. I very rarely post from the blogger window, I use windows live writer. When using live writer it reverts to the old comments section, but when I post from blogger, it works. Strange, but at least it works in blogger.

I can't seem to get my tumblog to show the comment box on posts. I put in the code where you requested. There is footer code on my blog, is that an issue? (Figured it out, no need to reply) Thanks

Same thing here for me, I followed the instructions correctly yet the comment only show as a link to the disqus page... I tried on multipule browser with the same results

edit : seems to work now, dont know why...

Disqus does not install properly when using Firefox 3.0.0.6 under Ubuntu Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) running latest kernel with all patches.
When the disqus code is pasted into the blogger window, and preview is hit, an error appears saying that the blog cannot be previewed due to an error in the xml.

Installs fine under Firefox 3.0.0.6 under Windows XP Home SP3. Only an issue as my laptop solely runs on linux (better battery life etc) So might be losing you some users possibly. But the comments thing for disqus does not appear even when following the instructions. Stumped
EDIT: it works, changed comment option to "full page" from pop-up and it seems to be working, hubby seems close to pulling his hair out in frustration though.

Linux is still an issue though, perhaps an issue with the linux interpretation of firefox, possibly not fully downloading the xml code or its storing the code slightly differently to windows, which is why the install fails. (feels like the xml is either getting corrupted or encoded in a way that disqus doesnt expect? )
