Are you saying that comments do not show up for pages at all? Are the
pages published and have comments allowed?

Yep. Disqus is up and working on my posts, but not on static pages. Take a look:

I have the opposite problem:
I installed the plugin, and I would like not allow comment to a specific page (the contact page).
But I really don't know how to do that.

Any idea?

It looks like your theme does not support comments on that page.

Is there some documentation somewhere (from Disqus or WP.org) that would explain what tags/features in a theme would make it possible/not possible to include Disqus comments?

There isn't a specific pattern of themes that do not support Disqus.
If a theme follows standard WP protocol, then Disqus will work.
