Can't Log in On My Blog

Started by Kevin · 1 month ago

Right now, I can only comment anonymously on my blog. Even though I am logged in to Disqus it doesn't appear to realize that. In fact, even if I choose "log in" on my blog comment page and proceed to enter my user name and password, once the page reloads I still am only able to comment anonymously. This used to work, what has changed?

  • This sounds like a cookie setting with your web browser. Type
about:config into the location bar and then type "cookiebehavior" into
the Filter bar. If the value is 1, set it to 0.
  • Ah, Disqus requires 3rd party cookies? Is there a way around this?
  • Disqus requires cookies to determine if you're logged in.

And since it is installed on your website, we are a third party.
  • Wait, I have "Accept cookies: Only from sites you navigate to" in safari and Disqus still remembers my login session, why is this?
  • I have verified that Disqus works in Safari.

    Can you elaborate?
  • Safari is not setup to accept 3rd party cookies, but for some reason Disqus is working fine...
  • Safari does accept 3rd party cookies by default.
  • No, the default option is "Accept cookies: Only from sites you navigate to" with a subscript that says "For example, not from advertisers on those sites" The other options are "Accept cookies: Always" and "Accept cookies: Never"
  • I'm mistaken, sorry.
