Ability to re-parent a comment started by Jonathan Johnson
Even though I'm an admin, I can't figure out a way to re-parent a post. I've had several instances where commenters were replying to a specific post that happened to be the last on the page, and instead they just filled out the Add Comment form. I would love to be able to assign these posts as a reply to an existing comment.

Any chance to match the Disqus Widgets with the colors of my joomla Templates ?

    Registered Users started by onlypencil
Are there any plans to implement registered users of blog with disqus. For example, if someone registers to my blog they automatically get registered to disqus, so there is no need to register and login twice. Once logged into blog, if they were to click on 'my account' on blog they would go to the disqus profile where they could change their profile information.
FeedFlare link to *blog* started by Pat Hawks
Anyway to customize the FeedBurner FeedFlare to link to my blog instead of the conversation on Disqus?
What about Pro accounts? started by darbadiena
I would be happy to remove links and credits to disqus, to remove "Do you already have an account?" and so on, and would pay for thet. How do you think?
Translation in other languages started by darbadiena
Is it possible to get disqus translated in other languages? I mean, those words like Add New Comment, Please login to rate, Showing 2 of 2 Comments, etc?
External spam fighting services started by Andrew Watson
Disqus handles multiple aspects of comments, including spam. There are some specialized spam fighting services: Akismet, etc.
Are there any thoughts of Disqus allowing the use of such specialized services?
You can see a comparison of four spam fighting services at:

    Various suggestions started by Niclas
After posting my last suggestion, I suddenly got the feeling that more ideas were floating around that I need to put down in writing concisely. Hence these additional ones:

    Suggestions
<li>(Having the option of enabling) a comment number that links to its permalink when clicked - just like on a plethora of forums. Partly since it provides a greater overview in a long discussion, which you might lose track of otherwise, and partly because Disqus novices might not know that the comment permalink is found through the profile picture.
<li>(Having the option of enabling) a roll-down or link to somewhere containing a list of code supported by Disqus. This might be customization to an extent that API-fiddling might be the preferred solution, but while we're at it, another great addition to this would be blog owner being able to choose which codes are shown in said drop-down or link (e.g.). The list would probably get crowded either way, and perhaps it'd be too hasslesome for the Disqus crew to handpick a selected few codes that would be particularly useful. Teaching newbies to use blockquote and proper URL and image linking can be pivotal at times.
<li>(Having the option of enabling) a way for commenters to delete their own comments within a specified timeframe of X seconds after posting. Of course, you already have something in the pipeline, so I'll see what that'll be, when the time comes.
<li>Identicons rather than the usual John Doe picture. I get that its purpose is to ape the user into finding a picture, but it also does so at the expense of the blog owner's layout on the site. That person should probably be granted as much sense of ownership and autonomy as being able to choose the look of the default profile picture would give him or her. At least making it optional would be great - along with implementing various types of identicons as seen on the link.

<li>Being able to subscribe to a blog post's comments by mail. I've seen it on a friend's site, but he uses the API version.
<li>Being able to see if a person you're following makes a thread on disqus.com.
<li>A Preview button along Post and Cancel
Need Ability To Choose E-Mail Address Shown To Blog Author started by Scott
One of my biggest concerns about Disqus is that allows me to only use one e-mail address on my profile. This is very limiting. Let me give an example of how:

Let's say I'm on one of my friends' blogs that uses Disqus. When I leave a comment there, I want my friend to see my personal e-mail address that they are familiar with such as "joe@personalemail.com".

Now let's say I am on a blog of someone I don't know- perhaps a political blog or professional blog. When I leave a comment there, I don't want the author to see my "joe@personalemail.com" address; I want them to see "joe.smith@other-email.com".

Without setting up multiple Disqus profiles and having to keep signing in and out of them, this is impossible to do.

I'd like the ability to have more than one e-mail/profile in ONE Disqus account. When I leave a comment Disqus would then allow me to choose which e-mail/profile I want to use.

If this is feature is already in the works, please advise and let me know approximately how long until implementation. The answer will determine how I end up implementing Disqus.

    P.S.

Forgive me if this has already been suggested. I did my best to search the Disqus Forum before posting it, but I'm still waiting for that much needed forum search feature. ;-)
Email replies back to original commenter started by Scott
As a moderator, I know that when I receive an email notification of a new comment, I can reply to that e-mail and my reply will be added to the comment thread. Unfortunately if the person who left that comment is not a Disqus member, they do not receive notification that I replied to them. They would have to return to my blog to see the comment. This is a HUGE drawback for me.

I would like to request an option that the moderator could reply not only to the thread, but also send a copy to the e-mail address of that original commenter. This option could perhaps be turned on in the Disqus configuration page.

I don't think this would be spammy as the original commenter would only receive the e-mail from the blog moderator and not the entire thread.
Request to put back the Reply button in Dashboard started by lacarmina
    Hi,
I'm a big supporter of Disqus and love the new version. I just have one request - I can no longer reply to comments directly from my dashboard. (There used to be a Reply button near the Admin one under each new approved comment). Can you put this feature back in?

    Thanks and take care,

It would be greate to have the possibility of integrating the disqus system within the comment system of FriendFeed (http://friendfeed.com/)
Tumblr Titles on the Blog Community Page started by Scott
Since many blog posts in Tumblr don't always contain an actual title, Disqus show the name of the blog instead on the blog's community page. This leads to post after post all showing with the same title as the blog and makes it very difficult to differentiate.

Is there a way to change it so that instead of using the blog name for Tumblr posts without a title, it would instead use a snippet of text or perhaps the date/time of the post?
Email Notifications Look Garbled started by Scott
When I receive a notification of a new comment on my Tumblr blog, the e-mail tries to include the original blog post. Unfortunately that ends up making a rather garbled mess of the whole thing. It's not easy to always immediately tell what the actual comment is.

Could you possible look at cleaning up the format of the e-mail notifications? Perhaps even an HTML email option would be nice.
Top Commentators for WordPress started by shokk
I would like to propose that a Top Commentators widget for Wordpress be created for Disqus users. Alternately, if someone knows of such a plugin that already exists, works well with the Disqus comments, and be full featured, let me know.
Half life vs counter strike, whats the difference? started by alice123
Our package just got here last week from China with these really cool CS figures from www.lducompany.com that I bought for my son. He is only 8 and I am starting to think that the computer game is a little too violent for him but the toys are kinda cute and harmless. Does anyone know if these characters have names? You can see them at this page http://www.liangdianup.com/collectibles_1.htm unless they moved them by the time you read this. I have heard some people call this game half life, is there a difference?
Include Wordpress pings as Disqus trackbacks started by miketempleton
I've gotten Wordpress pings to my blog from people who have linked to a post, but none of them show up (and I'm assuming its because people are not using the Disqus trackback link).

It seems like more people just link to the permalink for the post and don't dig around for the trackback link (at the bottom of the page). Any plans to fix that show permalinks can show up as trackbacks?
Better WordPress Admin Integration started by DarkH
I'd like to request better integration with the WordPress administration screens. When I click on the Comment tab and then the Disqus sub-tab, I'd like to be able to see and administer the Disqus comments right there within WordPress rather than have to go to the Disqus site.

    Is this a possibility?

Let me know if you need me to further clarify what I requesting.
    Emoticons started by bdude
I think it would be a good idea to have Emoticon support for Disqus comments :)
Tracking your rated comments started by Niclas
At some point, I'd appreciate a feature that, when clicking on your clout, a list of your rated comment would show. Whether other people would be able to see other people's rated comments is another (ethical?) discussion.
"Coming soon" started by Rob Loach
First of all, I love the idea of Disqus. Bringing different communities together through the comments is an amazing idea, and I really like where it's going. Allow your retribution to be consistent among these different communities is fantastic, and I'm not even going to mention how awesome responding to an internet discussion thread through email is....

But, I see a lot of "Coming soon" with Disqus. The User API, the import/migrate comments feature, emoticons, editing other peoples comments, Jabber integration, better JavaScript API, etc. They're all coming soon.

I understand that some of these are large and difficult tasks, but it would be nice to get a timeline of what's going on, what's planned for the near future, and what is something that's planned as a long term goal. Maybe a schedule of what's planned, and then the actual implementation of those plans. I would absolutely love to help out as much as I can, because I'd love to see Disqus succeed, not only as a service, but as a community.

    Any thoughts?
Multiple Author Blogs need different email notification lists started by EricFriedman
If you have moderators for different blogs then it would be great to have those moderators get email comments ONLY from a certain blog.

For example, the current "Settings" allow you to chose which blogs you receive notifications from. Ideally you could choose which blogs you receive notifications from as well as which email addresses get the emails.

If you want someone to be able to respond to only certain blogs via email and not others, this would be a much better way to scale up the system and have it be more inviting to multiple author blogs.

The first person to comment on a story ended up with a strange URL and so the comment does not show up in the count or with the story.

    Here is the story

Here is where the person added the comment

    http://www.technologyquestions.com/2008/07/27/f...

I have no idea where the s=21... came from but was a strange link generated on FriendFeed.

Any thoughts on how to merge these two comments back to the correct place?
