W3C compliancy started by btard
Howdy, I really love DISQUS but I am concerned that it produces errors and fails compliancy with a basic XHTML 1.0 Transitional check on the W3C validator.
I am wondering if you guys are planning to tackle this - my site can be input into http://validator.w3.org/ (nostatus.com) and you can see the errors.
Once again, great site and on my test blog I would love to see it work befor eI scale it onto something larger that I am really concerned with accessibility.

search engine friendly URLs & Chyrp started by Bob Torres
I saw something similar about Joomla, but I'm finding that if I enable search engine friendly URLs in Chyrp, the extra question mark being passed in the URL causes Chyrp to redirect to a non-existent page. If I disable the SEF URLs, everything works fine (you can see over at http://www.bobtorres.net).
Is there any way to have the best of both worlds (i.e. Chyrp with SEF URLs and Disqus)? Thanks in advance. I love the service!

I am sure that it has to do with the fact that I over-ride the discus_url (i have too because my cms has issues), but why cant it just show the title and link to the url like it is suppose too???

i used clickpass.com to register and to login at disqus.com.
but when i tried to post on blogs, and use the "login to disqus" option, i cannot login as there is an error message saying that i need a username of at least 5 characters...
even though i am already registered, i cannot use your services !

Hello. Great service so far. Just installed on my blog yesterday (www.everyonebutyou). Having two issues though.
First, how do I change my "short name"?
Second, I just changed my settings to have the comment box appear at the end of the thread of comments, but it still appears at the top. Do I have to do something else besides change the setting?

In my settings for my blog, I have the location of the comment to appear AFTER my comments, not before, but it's now appearing above them all, despite my settings.

Help using Disqus with custom Blogger templates started by Andrew Badr
Unfortunately, our Disqus Blogger template integration doesn't work automatically for all templates, especially heavily customized ones. I'm making this thread as a place to share information about how to do it manually. The big picture is that you have to (1) replace the code for the "X Comments" link for your posts, (2) add the javascript to your footer that will fetch the comment counts for the those links, and (3) replace the comment thread on the post itself. We're going to improve the automated Blogger integration, but hopefully this thread will be useful in the meantime.
Here are a couple step-by-step guides:

So I just tweaked a new Tumbelog, and when I added Disqus comments, the service created an unwanted link at the top of the page. I followed the instructions for setting up in a Tumblr blog, and yet it's there. The link is to http://log.gaudyspuds.com/#disqus_thread, which is my site (http://www.log.gaudyspuds.com). Is this a bug, or is there a trick to getting Disqus to communicate with Tumblr when using descriptive URLs? I would get no comment box or anything until I turned off the descriptive URLs.

I'm having trouble getting my profile on this site to accept my website URL. It keeps saying it's a broken link, but it isn't. No matter which of my sites I put in there, it claims it's a broken link and gives me an error! Don't know what to do about that. Any ideas? I've tried putting it in as http://www.kaistarr.com and as www.kaistarr.com and as just kaistarr.com but none of those will take.

Anyway, I just installed the wordpress plugin for disqus and after I set it to sync the comments with disqus, i got an "Error" status after about 20minutes. I'm just wondering if there's some place where I can check what the error actually is?

It seems that all my thread comments are closed even though only a small intended subset are specified as closed in the admin area.
Also, in the admin/settings area, it looks like the settings "Options Toggle" and "Disqus Logo" don't work anymore. I'd really like the text versions of both back. Gelled well with my site =)
